Hi my name is Andrew Wilkinson, thats about it!

Dad to four kids and husband to the just one wife, fortunately. Not much to tell really, I think I am hard working although have been heavily distracted over the last two years. Trying to start work again.

Met a lot of great people on Twitter (Yes you Mary), and have met some nice celebrities. I have to outstretch a heartwarming thanks to a Mr Johnny Depp who sent a video at the drop of a hat, and woke my daughter from a coma. Also to Mr Stephen Fry who from a small hotel in Mexico whilst recording his last chance series, recorded the most thought provoking and sincere message to Sophie.

I would like to quote something Stephen said as it has remained with us ever since.

“Sophie, I think of myself as a bucket, being lowered into the well of your consciousness. One day I hope you will step into my bucket and be pulled to the surface of full wakefulness by all your family, friends and myself”

If your looking for an easy read, leave now. This is going to be my central place for my diary. I will be posting as much as I can from now on and retrospectively from October 2007, when our daughter was involved in a serious car accident and left with extensive neuro injuries, and courting death on a number of occasions. You have asked for it as have the countless solicitors so here it is.

You will visit Intensive Care Units, Operating theatres, loving stories and heartbreak but above all I hope you will leave with ‘Hope’, I do.
